The Chinese Union Version was translated by members of various Protestant denominations, using the English Revised Version as a basis and original manuscripts for cross-checking. When it was completed in 1919, the CUV was the first translated work to be published in colloquial Chinese. The punctuation was updated to make the CUV even easier to read. The CUV is published by the Bible Society of Singapore, which belongs to the United Bible Societies.
